This innings included a spectacular accomplishment of six consecutive sixes in an over against spinner Manan Bharadwaj, putting him in exclusive company with players like Yuvraj Singh.
Arya’s steadiness was consistent throughout the tournament, and his other significant performances included an unbeaten 107 against Purani Dilli and an 88-run inning earlier this season. His explosive batting style, which featured a high strike rate and aggressive stroke play, was crucial to his team’s success and drew the attention of IPL scouts.
These exploits cemented his reputation as a power batter and paved the way for his selection in the IPL 2025 auction.
Ricky Ponting, the Punjab Kings’ head coach, expressed his delight over Arya’s acquisition to the squad, praising his talent and potential to make an impression in the IPL. Arya described joining Punjab Kings as a “surreal feeling” and expressed gratitude for Ponting’s mentorship.
