The Mumbai Indians cricket team hosts the Mumbai Indians (MI) Junior Inter-School Cricket Tournament every year to encourage the growth of cricket at the grassroots level in Maharashtra. There are under-14 and under-16 boys’ categories in the competition, along with an under-15 girls’ category.
In February 2019, the inaugural MI Junior tournament took place in Mumbai, including more than 50 schools. The competition intends to expose and give
budding young cricketers from schools in Mumbai and other Maharashtra cities experience playing competitive cricket.
The Mumbai Cricket Association, Vidarbha Cricket Association, and Maharashtra Cricket Association are just a few of the cricket associations that work together to organise the tournament. It gives aspiring cricket players a stage on which to demonstrate their abilities and get important game time. The Mumbai Indians’ Education and Sports for All (ESA) program, which promotes sports and education among impoverished and specially abled youngsters, includes the MI Junior competition. Reliance Foundation has improved the lives of nearly 18 million children in India via ESA by offering top-notch instruction and recreational activities.
