India vs New Zealand, 3rd Test: New Zealand whitewash India 3-0 on Indian soil

India’s hopes of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) final were dashed when New Zealand defeated them 3-0 at home.

India suffered its first defeat on home soil, losing the third Test by 25 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

This is the first time India has lost 3-0 at home in a Test series, and New Zealand is the first side to accomplish it.

The Kiwis won the first Test in Bengaluru by 8 wickets and the second Test in Pune by 113 runs.

Chasing a 147-run target, India suffered a now familiar batting collapse to be tottering at 29/5, before Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja stabilised the innings with a 42-run stand for the sixth wicket.

Man of the Match: Ajaz Patel for his two five-wicket hauls in the match – 5-103 & 6-57
