India collapsed to 46 all out against New Zealand, their lowest-ever total in a Test match at home

New Zealand’s Matt Henry and Will O’Rourke bowled exceptional spells, resulting in India’s lowest-ever total in a home Test match.

India were bowled out for 46 on Day 2, which became the first day when Day 1 was rained off without a ball being played, in the first Test against New Zealand at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.

India batted only 31.2 overs on Thursday, with O’Rourke and Henry taking full advantage of the cloudy and wet conditions.

Five Indian batsmen (Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin) were dismissed for duck.

After the 2020 Adelaide Test against Australia and the 1974 Lord’s match against England, this was India’s third-lowest Test total.
